About Maria
Maria Hartshorn is a BACP accredited psychotherapist based in Hornchurch, Essex. She has been offering online therapy since before the pandemic and brings the same warmth, depth and clinical rigour to online sessions as she does in person.
With specialist training in neurodivergent-affirming therapy, Relate couples counselling, and extensive NHS experience, Maria works with adults across the UK navigating ADHD, autism, AuDHD, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression and trauma.
Online therapy with Maria is available Monday to Thursday 9am–6pm and Friday 10am–1pm. Sessions are 50 minutes and take place via Zoom. A free 15-minute introductory call is available to all new clients.
Insurance is accepted from AXA, Aviva, Vitality, Bupa and WPA for online sessions. No referral is needed — you can book directly online.

Sessions take place via Zoom. You'll receive a secure link before each appointment. All you need is a device with a camera and microphone, and a private space where you won't be overheard. Sessions are 50 minutes, the same as in-person.
Yes. A substantial body of research shows that online therapy is equally effective as face-to-face for most presentations, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and relationship difficulties. Many clients actually prefer it.
Often more so. Many ADHD and autistic clients find online therapy easier — they can be in their own environment, avoid the sensory and executive demands of travel, and feel more at ease. Maria is experienced in adapting her approach for neurodivergent clients online.
Online therapy is available to clients across the UK — England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Maria is registered with BACP and UKCP, which cover practice across the UK.
A device with a working camera and microphone (laptop, tablet or phone), a stable internet connection, and a private space where you won't be interrupted or overheard. Zoom is free to download and easy to use.
Individual sessions are £75, couples sessions £90, and AuDHD-affirming therapy £75. A free 15-minute introductory call is available before committing. Insurance is accepted from AXA, Aviva, Vitality, Bupa and WPA.
