You Are Not Alone
Many adults with ADHD spend years feeling like something is wrong with them — before they understand why. These experiences are common, and they are not character flaws.
Areas of Focus
Understanding the cycle of overextension and collapse, rebuilding at a pace that works for your nervous system.
Working with the intensity of ADHD emotions — rejection sensitivity, frustration, overwhelm — without shame.
Processing a late diagnosis, grieving the years before understanding, and building a new, more compassionate self-narrative.
Exploring the emotional roots of procrastination, avoidance and task paralysis — not just strategies, but the feelings underneath.
Unpacking the exhausting performance of "passing" as neurotypical and finding ways to exist more authentically.
Navigating the impact of ADHD on partnerships, friendships and family — communication, conflict and connection.
The Process
A 15-minute conversation — no commitment, no pressure. We talk about what you're looking for and whether we're the right fit.
The first few sessions are about understanding your story, your ADHD, and what matters most to you. There is no fixed agenda — the work follows you.
Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. We work at your pace, adapting the approach as your needs evolve. ADHD-informed means flexible, not rigid.
When you're ready to finish, we end thoughtfully — reviewing what's changed, consolidating the work, and leaving you with a clear sense of your own resources.
My Approach
My approach is integrative — drawing on person-centred, relational, psychodynamic and somatic frameworks — and adapted to how the ADHD brain actually works. Sessions are flexible in structure, conversational in tone, and always led by what matters to you.
I don't pathologise ADHD. I work from the understanding that ADHD is a different neurotype — one that comes with real strengths alongside real challenges. The goal is not to make you more neurotypical. It's to help you understand yourself, reduce suffering, and build a life that works for your brain.

Individual counselling, ADHD burnout
"Working with Maria has been genuinely life-changing. I came to her after a late ADHD diagnosis feeling completely lost — like my whole life suddenly needed reinterpreting. She gave me the space to do that without rushing me, and without making me feel broken. I finally understand myself."

Common Questions
Yes. ADHD-informed therapy adapts the pace, structure and approach to suit how an ADHD brain works. Sessions are more flexible, often more conversational, and focus on the emotional and relational impact of ADHD — not just strategies. Maria brings both clinical expertise and lived understanding of neurodivergence.
Absolutely. ADHD burnout — the exhaustion that comes from years of masking, overcompensating and pushing through — is one of the most common reasons adults seek therapy. Therapy helps you understand what caused the burnout, rebuild at a sustainable pace, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
No. Many people come to therapy while awaiting assessment, or having self-identified. You do not need a formal diagnosis to benefit from ADHD-informed therapy. Maria works with your lived experience, not a label.
Yes — all services are available online via Zoom, as well as in-person in Hornchurch, Havering, Essex. Online therapy is equally effective and often more accessible for people with ADHD.
Sessions are integrative and person-centred — meaning the approach is tailored to you. We might explore identity, emotional regulation, relationships, shame, late diagnosis, or executive functioning challenges. There is no fixed agenda; the work follows what matters most to you.
ADHD in women and girls is frequently missed or misdiagnosed because it often presents differently — more internalised, more masked, more likely to be labelled as anxiety or depression. Many women receive their diagnosis in adulthood and experience a profound identity shift. Maria has specialist experience supporting women through late ADHD diagnosis.
