Client Experiences
Late ADHD diagnosis
"From lost to self-understanding"
"Working with Maria has been genuinely life-changing. I came to her after a late ADHD diagnosis feeling completely lost — like my whole life suddenly needed reinterpreting. She gave me the space to do that without rushing me, and without making me feel broken. I finally understand myself."

Masking & not being understood
"A space where I never have to mask"
"As an autistic person, I have always struggled to find a therapist who truly gets it. Maria doesn't just tolerate my communication style — she adapts to it. I never have to mask in our sessions, which means I can actually do the work."

Books I personally recommend — for clients, clinicians, and anyone curious about therapy, neurodivergence, and the mind-body connection.

Maria's Personal Favourite
by Robert de Board
This book has a special place in my heart — its contents inspired me to become a therapist. Toad's self-discovery through counselling with Heron is a beautiful and accessible introduction to therapy.

A Revolutionary Read
by Bessel van der Kolk
Brings together mind, emotions and body as parts that make up the whole person. A must-read for clinicians and clients who wish to take therapy to another level of understanding.

AuDHD — Autism & ADHD
by Dr Khurram Sadiq
Explains how autism and ADHD interact in complex, sometimes contradictory ways — and how this affects identity, relationships, mental health, and daily functioning.
